Funding disbursed under the online news act
In March 2025, the CJC-CCJ began disbursing $500M in funding to Canadian and Indigenous news businesses, as mandated under the Online News Act. Recipients represent a broad cross-section of Canadian news outlets and editorial perspectives from every region of the country. As of December 22, 2025, we have distributed $96,223,110.32 to 459 eligible news businesses across Canada.
The recipient list can be organized by operating name and legal name.
