In September 2025, the CJC-CCJ hosted information sessions ahead of our application portal opening for applications on September 9, 2025. The sessions oriented applicants to the updated application process and updated requirements.

  • Non-Indigenous news outlets: September 9 – October 3, 2025
  • Indigenous news outlets: September 16 – October 16, 2025

What’s New for year 2

  • Secure online application portal
  • Real-time status updates and notifications
  • Eligibility verification and verification of hours take place simultaneously
  • Eligibility decisions for all applicants sent simultaneously
  • One single payment per successful applicant (early 2026)
  • Clear and timely appeal process for ineligible applicants
